Exclusive Cebu Pilgrimage Tour
In Sibonga, South Cebu, Simala Parish Church is a prominent place of worship and a popular tourist attraction. Some of its names are Monastery of the Holy Eucharist, Mother Mary Castle Church, Mama Mary Shrine of Simala, Miraculous Mama Mary Church, and Simala Church. It is the home of the miraculous statue of the Virgin Mary, which is said to shed bloody tears on her birthday. Simala Church, one of Cebu’s most well-known and well-kept churches, draws hundreds of worshippers and curious outsiders. The church is stunning, with a front like a castle and an ominous interior.
The next stop is at Barangay Valladolid in Carcar City is home to the shrine of Archbishop Teofilo Camomot. The shrine is sustained by the Daughters of St. Teresa nuns, whose monastery is located inside the premises. On the trunk of each tree planted in the place, people who sought the good monsignor’s intercession to heal their illnesses had their names engraved. This information is required to support the religious community’s upcoming request for the late monsignor’s beatification.
Our Lady of the Fatima statue can be found in Theotokos Shrine, a pilgrimage place in Carcar, Cebu is our 3rd stop. The location was once well-known for the phenomenon known as the “dancing light.” When the site was being built, a farmer made an unexpected discovery. Directly behind the position of the Our Lady of Fatima statue, his plow hit a strange object. The prominent host for consecration had an ancient cross stamped on it, and the base for the monstrance was an antique from the fifteenth century with the monogram AM, Ave Maria, which is comparable to the AM on the Miraculous Medal.
Last but not least is the stunning San Pedro Calungsod chapel, which is situated in Cebu’s SM Seaside Complex. San Pedro Calungsod, a venerated Filipino saint who practiced the Roman Catholic faith, is honored by this magnificent chapel. Calungsod was a nobleman who, in his fight to advance missionary activity, had to endure religious persecution and martyrdom. Soon after, he converted to Christianity and began preaching to others, aiming to teach them the virtues and bravery of the faith and the knowledge and wisdom it can give. That great Saint, who believed in the power of religion, is memorialized by this chapel.
